Fall has arrived.
As autumn’s last leaves fall and the nights grow longer, I find myself grateful for you—my Darklings—who’ve joined me on this journey through love, loss, and blood-soaked pages. November is for reflection, whispers by candlelight, and secrets shared between friends.
Welcome to the second installment of the Knights of Darkness Newsletter.
This is our space—a place for updates, behind-the-scenes tea, and a chance for you to share your thoughts as part of this growing darkling community.

Here's a little Snippet of dialogue from my next book.
“I want to hate her for what she’s done—for what we lost. I tell myself I do. But I can’t. She’s in my head, Dom. Every waking thought, every time I close my eyes…” He exhaled sharply. “The idea of anyone touching her—hurting her—it drives me mad.” --Winston Tait
This line came from a quiet night of writing where I set myself to imagine how it would feel to desire the forbidden. I can’t wait for you to see what Winston does next.--M.C. Kings
Poll For Next Month's Newsletter:
🩸 “Should I spill tea next on… Nadia’s secret contact? Or Winston's Spy? DM me on Tik Tok or Instagram with your choice.
Reader of the Month 📖- Shout-out to Michael Tracas. Thanks for posting such a thoughtful review on Amazon!! Here's what Michael said about the book: "What’s an outstanding book on a different vampire story. Kept my interest all the way through. Should be made into a movie. A very creative story. Thank you."
My Darklings, tell me your favorite vampire in fiction — yours might appear in December’s Darkling Corner!”📚
My Darklings, this year has been one of the biggest transformations of my life. After 32 years of federal service, I finally closed that chapter—retiring through the recent DOGE efforts to shrink the government. It wasn’t an easy step. Change rarely is. There were days I wondered if I’d made the right choice, and nights when the silence felt heavier than I expected.
But that silence… became a story.
When I put pen to paper, something inside me reignited. I turned a lifelong love of storytelling into a new beginning—as an indie author. Writing gave me back my spark, my joy, and a sense of purpose I didn’t realize I’d been missing.
And you—my readers, my fellow travelers through the dark—have been such a huge part of that light. Your messages, your excitement, your willingness to dive into my world of shadows and redemption… it keeps me going. You’ve shown me that new chapters aren’t endings—they’re just different kinds of beginnings.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here, for believing in me, and for making this second act of my life something truly magical.
With love and gratitude,
M.C. Kings🖤🖤🖤
Darklings’ Reading Nook: Here's a moody fantasy book to ready during these cool autumn nights: The Mist Thief by L.J. Andrews. This is third book of the Ever Seas series. The first two were pretty amazing.
Drink of the Month: Keep warm with “Vampire’s Cocoa” — dark hot chocolate with cayenne and cinnamon. Melt your favorite dark chocolate (mine is Chocolate Cortes) in hot water until it becomes a paste. Whisk in hot milk of your choice and add cinnamon. Top it off with whip cream and a sprinkle of cayenne and cinnamon. Delish!🧛🍫
“Thank you for being part of my ever-growing circle of shadows. Every word I write is for readers like you — those who believe even monsters deserve love.”
“Until next moonrise,
—M.C. Kings 🖤”
